The Metal Studio

 

Ron and Dawn founded the "VanOstrand Metal Studio" after graduating from the Metals Program at the State University of New York at Brockport in 1997. Originally just Northeast of the town of Brockport, the studio was later moved to Holland, New York when Ron took a job as a teacher in the neighboring community of East Aurora - the home of the Roycroft Movement.

 

Designs have been heavily influenced by Roycroft metalwork produced at the turn of the beginning of the 20th century. Nature and the artwork produced by the Japanese culture also continue to hold influence on the studio design work.

 

In 2018 Ron began construction of a 1720 sqft studio in East Aurora New York.
